Repetto

In 1947 well known French classic dancer Roland Petit asked his mother to make him a pair of dance slippers. Here, Rose Repetto invented her unique method known as the "stitch and return" technique. She wanted to sew the leather under the sole and turn it inside out like a glove. This gives the foot more freedom and flexibility. Almost 10 years later Brigitte Bardot requested of Rose Repetto to design a shoe that was just as flexible, but more becoming and sexy than a dance slipper. This essentially put Repetto on the map. In 2000 Repetto started doing collaborations with the likes of Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto and Commes des Garcon.
